Nintendo has finally unveiled the latest update to Animal Crossing New Horizons. This gives us Brewster and much more. Unfortunately, what the new Roost lacks is the ability to work there like you did in New Leaf and earn exclusive furniture. These were part of the “Coffee Series” and you could only get them by working shifts at The Roost and getting a certain number of orders.
However, this time things are different. A few coffee-related furniture was already included in the game before The Roost was added. Others that seem to be missing were quite memorable in previous games and added to your decor. Outside of the furniture, it looks like you can’t carry a cup of coffee or even a bean bag anymore. People are creative, however, and they will no doubt find ways around it. Here is the range of what is and is not included.

Missing: Brewster-style gyroids
Thanks to the latest Animal Crossing Direct we know gyroids are about to make a comeback, the big question is, will Brewtoids come back? They were apparently absent during the brief scene in the trailer, so it’s all in the air about them.
They were by far the hardest items to obtain in New Leaf and came in four different varieties, Large, Mega, Mini, and Brewstoid. They all looked amazing when displayed so we will miss them for sure.

Includes: coffee cup
What would coffee be without your classic coffee mug? Fortunately, this element is no longer related to work for Brewster and is already included in Animal Crossing New Horizons. Instead of getting stuck in just one variation, New Horizons also gives us a few more options to suit style and taste.
You can buy mugs through Nook Shopping in ABD, as a random item for sale at Nooks Cranny, or they can even be found by shaking trees. You will of course have to catalog all the different variations offered in the game to unlock the style you want. The coffee mug is also great for recreating your own in-game dinner.
8
Included: Cream and Sugar
Another classic staple of any coffee is of course your cream and sugar. Fortunately, this too was already included in New Horizons at launch and is also available in a few different variations. His look in the latest Animal Crossing title also looks a lot more realistic and streamlined.
Again, these are frequently offered for sale by Timmy and Tommy, as well as in the Nook Shopping catalog. Keep an eye on each day to grab all the models.

Missing: coffee beans
Now, this particular item was bringing you some extra bells if you had your fill of them to do a good job at The Roost. Currently, they are not in New Horizons at all.
Back in New Leaf, there were three different varieties, each with different values. Normal sold for 500 bells, Good sold for 1000 bells and Superb would bring you 2000 bells. It could earn you some quick and easy bells. If Nintendo chose to sneak them up with Brewster, that would complete the whole cafe.
6
Included: espresso machine
One key item any barista needs is their trusty Espresso Maker and New Horizons has given it a stylish update this time around. It looks like something you will find in any local cafe or even at home with a design similar to many popular machines.
It reflects the modern world’s love for coffee, especially in homemade drinks, and fits well both in your home and in a cafe, making it a versatile option. It even has different color swatches and is available for purchase in Nook’s Cranny and the Nook Store.
5
Coffee grinder included
A true coffee connoisseur grinds their fresh beans before brewing them and that’s exactly what Brewster does at The Roost. A more classic style for making coffee of course, but a cool item to have in your collection. Details on this have been improved for New Horizons. You can now interact with him and watch him grind the coffee.
Again, this is now an easily purchasable item available from Nook’s Cranny or the Nook Store, and has several variations.
4
Missing: Coffee maker
A staple in both Animal Crossing and real life is the Classic Coffee Maker. Nothing distinguishes this piece except that it is an exclusive award. So far, it doesn’t exist in New Horizons either, but it’s not a huge loss because, when displayed, it doesn’t stand out too much from the other items in the Cafe Series.
It only came in a boring white color and won’t be particularly missing. Maybe if it’s added to New Horizons at a later date, it will also receive multiple variations and a sleeker design update.
3
Includes: coffee uniform
The cafe uniform was one of the smartest and coolest items you could ever wear while working at The Roost. While it is no longer possible to work, the uniform prevails. New Horizons has completely streamlined the look, adding more variety of colors. They also took the time to make it much more elegant and stylish.
Of course, it took a lot of correct orders to get this garment in New Leaf. Now you just have to go to the Able Sisters store and you can buy one in your favorite color and wear it whenever you want.
2
Included: Espresso machine on the stove
This item is an espresso machine but it looks and feels very different from the sleek version of New Horizons. At the time of New Leaf’s release, this was the only option available. Now that’s a plus.
Again, it is on sale in various stores and can be a simpler alternative to coffee at home if the huge and complicated espresso machine is not your style.
1
Missing: Siphon
The siphon is one of the odd-looking pieces of furniture in the collection. If you don’t like coffee, you might not even know what it is. This piece of furniture is also classified “historical” and trendy by the association Happy Home.
Only available in New Leaf, it has yet to debut and likely never will. Of all the coffee items, this one is more likely to be just a decoration in The Roost in New Horizons.
