Badcock partners with Daytona International Speedway

MULBERRY, Fla. — Top 100 retailers Badcock Home Furniture & more are sending some of their customers to the Great American Race.

The Mulberry, Fla.-based retailer, which has locations throughout the Southeast, has partnered with Daytona International Speedway and is offering 12 trips to the sold-out Daytona 500, including a pair of grand prix packages in the part of “Start Your Economies”, which runs until January 24.

“With stock car racing being one of the most popular sports in the Southeast, our store locations are well suited to the sport’s fan base,” said Rob Burnette, President and CEO. . “We are thrilled to partner with the World Center of Racing to give our customers the chance to enjoy a unique Daytona 500 experience.”

In 2018, Badcock introduced the Daytona sofa at its Daytona dealer show. The dual-powered recliner sofa has accent lighting with LED lights in the cup holders and along the base of the sofa as well as stitching that resembles racing treads, and the company’s managers felt it would be the perfect product for the promotion. “It’s a really good connection to the motor racing or motorsport approach,” said Barb Scherer, Badcock’s senior vice president and chief marketing officer.

Participation in the contest can be done in two ways. On the Badcock and Daytona International Speedway websites and social media profiles, there is a QR code that offers consumers entry into the contest. In addition, those who “test” the Daytona sofa in a store will have access to a special QR code that offers five entries.

Two grand prize winners will each receive two VIP passes with access to a hospitality suite, lot parking, post-race access to Victory Lane, two nights hotel stay near Daytona International Speedway , a souvenir package of the event and UNOH Fanzone and pre-race access. Ten runners-up will each receive a pair of grandstand tickets for the race.

Scherer said the promotion has been a success so far.

“It’s a great way to start the year,” Scherer said. “Everyone is excited about it. We’ve had a great response so far. Admissions have increased, so it’s growing.

And since the Daytona 500, which takes place Feb. 20, is sold out, Scherer said the contest could give racing fans their best shot at being there.

“The Daytona 500 is already sold out. It may be one of the few ways people can try to get tickets,” she said.
